Spring cleaning… Pantry organizing, decluttering and ‘Emergency Preparedness’ check in

It’s that time of the year again when the holidays and winter are coming to an end on Kaua’i. A great time to check the expiration codes on the canned and dried goods you may have in your pantry. Putting a reminder on your calendar with an alert once or twice a year is a great way to notify you of a moment to scan your food inventory. Spring especially is a great time to double check because Hurricane season is just around the corner for us here on Kaua’i. A great reminder to have the ‘Emergency Preparedness’ stock of 2 weeks dried & canned foods available and accounted for just in case.

Here are a few tips and tricks on pantry organizing as well as a list of some items to have in your hurricane prep

  1. Remove Everything You Have
  2. Take Inventory
  3. Thoroughly Clean
  4. Create Groups
  5. Add Storage Containers
  6. Make a List
  7. Use the Door
  8. Maximize Your Shelf Space
